The Best AI Headshot Generator
HeadshotPro is the best AI headshot generator for most people: one-time pricing from $29, a refund if the results don't look like you, and a promise to delete your selfies after 30 days. Aragon has the most detailed face-data policy, and BetterPic has a free tier.
The Research Score rates each product on its own merits. Our picks also weigh price and who the product is for, so a pick can rank above a higher-scoring product. How we score
An AI headshot generator takes a handful of ordinary selfies and returns dozens of studio-style portraits for LinkedIn, a company website or a speaker bio, usually within an hour and for less than a photographer would charge. The catch is that you’re handing a company clear photos of your face, and some of these services keep them far longer than you might expect.
For most people, HeadshotPro is the one to start with. Its one-time packages start at $29, it promises a full refund if the results don’t look like you (as long as you haven’t downloaded anything), and it says it deletes your input photos 30 days after generation and never trains AI on them. Aragon is our runner-up and has the most thorough face-data policy we read. BetterPic is the budget pick, with a free tier of up to 10 headshots, though its retention terms need a careful look.
We looked at 10 AI headshot generators and DIY options for this guide. For each one we read the official pricing page, refund terms and privacy policy, and where those disagreed with the company’s marketing pages, we say so. Every pick is scored with our published Research Score, which gives privacy a 20% weight; for a product that runs on photos of your face, we read that part especially closely. We did not upload our own selfies or generate headshots for this guide, so we don’t judge image quality ourselves. Where we describe results, we’re reporting what the companies promise and guarantee.
Who this is for
This guide is for anyone who needs a professional-looking portrait quickly: a new LinkedIn photo, a headshot for a company website, a speaker bio or a resume. It’s also for managers who need matching headshots for a whole team without booking a photographer.
If you need a photo that will be checked against your face, such as a passport or ID photo, don’t use an AI headshot. And if your workplace or industry has rules about AI-generated images, follow those first.
How we picked
Likeness and a guarantee. No service can promise that every image will look exactly like you, so we gave weight to written refund or redo policies tied to likeness.
Clear, one-time pricing. Number of headshots, resolution and turnaround per package.
What happens to your selfies. How long input photos and generated images are kept, whether you can delete them yourself, and whether they’re used to train AI models.
Biometric and security commitments. Consent for face data, retention schedules, and certifications such as SOC 2 Type II.
Commercial use and ownership of the finished photos.
Candidates we considered: HeadshotPro, Aragon AI, BetterPic, Secta Labs, Photo AI, Try it on AI, Picsart’s headshot presets, Canva’s headshot tools, and Google Gemini and ChatGPT as DIY options.

HeadshotPro
7.8/10
Clear one-time pricing, a written realism guarantee and a short, specific promise about deleting your selfies.
HeadshotPro sells three one-time packages. Basic costs $29 for 30 headshots with roughly a two-hour turnaround. Professional costs $39 for 50 headshots in about 30 minutes, and Executive costs $59 for 70 headshots in about 15 minutes, with 4K resolution. The two higher tiers include one free redo within 14 days, and every tier includes photo credits for edits. There’s no subscription. You pick styles from what the company calls a library of thousands, or let it choose for you.
What puts HeadshotPro on top is how specific it is about the two things that matter most with this kind of service. On likeness, its Realism Guarantee promises a full refund if the headshots don’t look like you, as long as you request it within 14 days of paying and haven’t downloaded any photos. HeadshotPro says most refunds started on its self-serve page are processed within one business day.
On privacy, the pricing page says input photos are always deleted 30 days after generation and are never used to train AI models. Teams can also choose to auto-delete the finished results. The company says its SOC 2 Type II report and data processing agreement are available to customers through its trust center. For teams, HeadshotPro lets an admin choose the styles so everyone’s photos match, and it says team credits never expire.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
The refund rule is strict: once you download a single photo, you can’t get your money back. Look through the full gallery before you save anything. Download links for your results also last only seven days, according to the FAQ.
HeadshotPro’s privacy policy, last updated October 22, 2026, doesn’t repeat the 30-day deletion promise or mention biometric data at all; those commitments live on the pricing and marketing pages. It does say you can request deletion and that confirmed requests are handled within 14 days. The team pricing on the page showed conflicting per-person figures when we checked, so get a quote before budgeting for a whole company.
Who it’s for
Professionals who want a LinkedIn or company headshot without a subscription and want to know exactly what happens to their photos.
Who should skip it
You need dozens of different outfits and scenes, or you want to download a few results before deciding whether to ask for a refund.
Pros
One-time packages from $29 for 30 headshots
Full refund if results don't look like you, within 14 days and before any download
Says input photos are deleted 30 days after generation and never used to train AI
Lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR documentation
Cons
Downloading even one photo ends your refund eligibility
4K resolution only on the $59 Executive package
Its privacy policy itself doesn't mention biometric data

AA
Aragon AI
7.7/10
Fast results, more headshots per dollar on its top tier, and the most detailed written policy on how it handles face data.
Aragon’s three one-time packages were shown under a “20% off” banner when we checked: Basic at $35 for 40 headshots, Standard at $45 for 60, and Executive at $75 for 100. The page also displayed $44, $56 and $94 next to them, which look like the regular prices. Generation takes 45 minutes on Basic, 30 on Standard and 15 on Executive. Basic and Standard deliver 896 x 1,088-pixel files with one or two outfit and background choices; Executive includes every option and enhanced 1,792 x 2,176-pixel files.
Aragon’s privacy policy is the most thorough we read for this guide. It says face data “may be considered biometric data” depending on where you live, that it’s collected only with your consent through a checkbox at sign-up, and that the company keeps a written retention and destruction schedule. Aragon says it will permanently delete or anonymize face data within 30 days of the earliest of several triggers, including your deletion request or one year after collection. You can withdraw consent and delete your data in your account settings. Aragon also says it contractually prohibits its AI service providers from training generalized AI models on your face data, and that it doesn’t sell or profit from face data.
If you don’t like your results, Aragon offers a full refund as long as you haven’t downloaded the photos, and it will regenerate them at no cost if you email support.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
The one-year cap on face data has an exception: if you’re an active subscriber, Aragon may keep face data until the subscription ends. Other uploads are kept for as long as your account is active plus 30 days. If you’ve already downloaded photos, refunds are handled case by case.
Because the prices were labeled as a limited-time discount, expect to pay more if the promotion ends. And the higher-resolution files that matter for print or large website banners only come with the $75 package.
Who it’s for
Anyone who wants a clear, written answer on how their face data is stored, used and destroyed.
Who should skip it
You want 4K files on a budget or a refund after you've already downloaded your photos.
Pros
Privacy policy treats face data as potentially biometric and requires consent
Face data deleted or anonymized within 30 days of a deletion request or of the one-year mark
Contractually bars its AI providers from training general models on your face data
Free redo if you're unhappy
Cons
Enhanced resolution only on the $75 Executive package
Displayed prices were promotional; regular prices appeared higher
Face data can be kept longer while you have an active subscription

BetterPic
7.4/10
A free tier of up to 10 headshots and 4K resolution on every plan, but conflicting statements about how long it keeps your photos.
BetterPic’s free tier gives you up to 10 headshots in 4K, processed in a queue, which makes it the easiest way to see whether AI headshots work for your face before you spend anything. Paid plans are one-time: Basic costs $35 for 20 headshots with one style, Pro costs $39 for 60 headshots with three styles, and Expert costs $79 for 120 headshots with six styles. Every tier is 4K, and delivery takes one to two hours depending on the plan. Teams pay $49 per seat.
The company says to upload around eight casual phone photos, mostly chest-up, and that training happens per person and per session, with the model isolated to your account. Finished images can be sent to a human editor for a manual retouch. BetterPic’s support center says you get full ownership and a commercial license for your photos.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
BetterPic’s statements about retention don’t match. Its privacy policy, last updated October 8, 2025, says input photos are stored for up to one year, and trained models and generated photos for up to three years. Its support center says input pictures are kept for 7 days and your model for 30 days. Until the company reconciles them, assume the longer periods apply, and use the delete option in your account or ask support to remove your data once you have your photos.
The pricing page doesn’t mention any refund or money-back guarantee, which sets BetterPic apart from HeadshotPro, Aragon and Secta. Try the free tier first so you don’t have to rely on one.
Who it’s for
People who want to see what AI headshots look like for free before paying, and anyone who wants 4K files without paying for a top tier.
Who should skip it
You want a short, consistent retention promise for your selfies, or a published refund policy.
Pros
Free tier with up to 10 headshots in 4K
4K resolution on every paid plan; Pro gives 60 headshots for $39
Lists SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR and CCPA
Option to send photos to a human retoucher
Cons
Privacy policy allows keeping selfies up to 1 year and results up to 3 years
Pricing page doesn't mention a refund or guarantee

Secta Labs
6.5/10
One $49 package with a large batch of photos and a no-questions-asked 30-day money-back guarantee.
Secta sells one Professional plan for $49, shown as reduced from $99 when we checked. Its standout feature is the refund window: Secta advertises a “No questions asked” 30-day money-back guarantee, much longer than HeadshotPro’s 14 days, and it doesn’t say that downloading photos voids it.
On privacy, Secta’s policy says your original images are deleted from all storage the company has access to once they’ve been processed. It also says that once a deletion request is confirmed, your information is deleted within 14 days. The homepage says Secta doesn’t own any of the images you get from it.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
Secta’s own pages contradict each other. The plan lists “200+ HD Photos” and “90+ styles,” while another section of the same page describes “100+ HD Photos” and seven styles. The homepage promises results in “less than 2 hours” in one place and “under an hour” in another. Treat the larger numbers as optimistic.
The privacy policy gives no timeframe for deleting originals, and it doesn’t address biometric data or whether your photos are used for AI training.
Who it’s for
People who want plenty of variety and the most time to decide whether they're happy.
Who should skip it
You want a cheaper entry package or precise, consistent product details.
Pros
30-day money-back guarantee, which Secta calls no questions asked
Large batch of photos for a single price
Privacy policy says original images are deleted after processing
Cons
Its own pages give inconsistent photo counts, style counts and turnaround times
No statement on biometric data or AI training in the privacy policy
Single $49 package, with no cheaper tier

Photo AI
6.2/10
A subscription that trains a model of you and keeps generating new photos in many settings, LinkedIn headshots included.
Photo AI works differently from the services above. You upload five or more selfies to create what it calls an AI twin, which the company says is ready in about two minutes, and then you keep generating photos of yourself in different places and outfits. LinkedIn headshots are one of its photo packs.
Plans are monthly or yearly: Starter costs $19 a month or $9 a month billed yearly ($99), Pro $49 a month or $29 a month billed yearly ($349), with Max and Ultra above that. Plans come with monthly AI credits rather than a fixed photo count. Photo AI’s FAQ says the Pro, Max and Ultra plans include a commercial use license, that you can request a refund from the menu in your account, and that deleted photos are permanently deleted after 30 days.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
For a one-time headshot update, a subscription is the more expensive route, and the Starter plan is for personal use only. Photo AI’s FAQ and pricing page also don’t say whether the photos you upload are used to train its models, which matters more here than for the one-shot services.
Who it’s for
Creators and founders who need a steady stream of new photos of themselves, not a one-time headshot batch.
Who should skip it
You only need one set of headshots, or you need commercial rights on the cheapest plan.
Pros
Create a model from 5 or more selfies
Many scenes and photo packs beyond business headshots
Self-serve refund requests
Commercial license from the Pro plan
Cons
Subscription rather than a one-time purchase
Starter plan is for personal use only
Its FAQ doesn't say whether your photos train its models

Other good options
For a free DIY attempt: Google Gemini. Google lists its Nano Banana 2 image model as free in the Gemini app and says it keeps a person’s appearance consistent across images; Nano Banana 2.1 requires a paid Google AI plan. You can upload a selfie and ask for a neutral background and business attire. Two caveats: Google says it adds a visible watermark as well as an invisible SynthID watermark to generated images, which rules the result out for most profile photos. And according to Google’s Gemini Apps Privacy Hub, if Keep Activity is on, photos you share can be used to improve Google services with the help of human reviewers. Temporary chats aren’t used for training. For more on general image tools, see our guide to the best AI image generator.
The competition
Try it on AI: The homepage advertises prices starting from $17 with no subscription and says premium plans include human editors. But the same site says you need just one selfie in one place and asks for “10+ casual photos” in another, and its privacy policy page didn’t display any policy text when we checked. We couldn’t verify how it handles your photos, so we didn’t pick it.
Picsart: Picsart’s Gen.ai Studio has professional-profile presets: you upload one clear photo showing your face and shoulders and pick a look. The page doesn’t state headshot pricing, says there’s no bulk team workflow, and makes no statement about how uploaded photos are handled.
Canva: We couldn’t load Canva’s own headshot feature page when we checked, and Canva’s Apps Marketplace headshot tools come from third-party developers with their own terms. We’d use a dedicated service instead.
ChatGPT: It can edit uploaded photos, but OpenAI’s help pages on image editing were unavailable to us when we checked, so we couldn’t confirm current limits. Like Gemini, it isn’t designed to deliver a matched set of professional portraits.
AI headshots, honesty and your face data
An AI headshot is a picture of what a model thinks you look like, not a photograph of you. Even good services produce some results with the wrong smile, ears or hairline, which is why refund terms tied to likeness matter. Choose images that look like you on a good day, not a different person. LinkedIn’s Professional Community Policies tell members not to use “any other image that is not your likeness” as a profile photo, and some employers and clients may expect you to say a headshot is AI-generated. Norms are still forming; when in doubt, ask.
Your selfies are also sensitive data. Aragon’s policy notes that face data may count as biometric data under some state and national laws, which can come with consent and deletion rules. Before you upload, check three things: how long input photos are kept, whether they train any AI model beyond your own, and how to delete everything when you’re done. Then actually delete it. This guide isn’t legal advice.
What to look forward to
We expect more services to put retention and training commitments into their actual privacy policies rather than only on marketing pages, as Aragon already has. We’ll update this guide when BetterPic reconciles its retention statements and when we can verify Try it on AI’s privacy terms.
FAQ
Are AI headshot generators safe to use?
They can be, but read the privacy terms first. Look for a stated deletion window for your selfies, a promise not to train AI on them, and a way to delete your data. HeadshotPro and Aragon were the clearest on all three; BetterPic’s privacy policy allows keeping selfies up to a year.
Can I use an AI headshot on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn’s community policies say not to use an image of someone else or any image that isn’t your likeness as your profile photo. An AI headshot that accurately looks like you is the safest choice; one that makes you look noticeably different works against the point of a profile photo.
How much does an AI headshot cost?
At the time of research, one-time packages ran from $29 (HeadshotPro Basic) to $79 (BetterPic Expert), BetterPic offered up to 10 free headshots, and Photo AI’s subscription started at $9 a month billed yearly.
Can I get a refund if the AI headshots don't look like me?
Often, yes. HeadshotPro refunds within 14 days if you haven’t downloaded any photos, Aragon refunds if you haven’t downloaded them, and Secta advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. BetterPic’s pricing page doesn’t mention a refund.
Can I just use ChatGPT or Gemini to make a headshot?
You can try, and Gemini’s free Nano Banana 2 model keeps a person’s appearance consistent across images. But Google adds a visible watermark to Gemini images, and general chatbots aren’t built to return a batch of matched professional portraits.
