Higgsfield vs. Runway: Which AI Video Studio Should You Use?
Higgsfield is the better pick for social and ad creators who want the widest menu of models plus ad, lipsync and AI influencer tools. Runway is the better pick for filmmakers, editors and anyone who cares about clear rights and privacy terms.
The widest model menu we found, plus Ads Studio, lipsync and AI influencer tools, at the cost of default training on your content and strict credit rules.
The Research Score rates each product on its own merits. Our picks also weigh price and who the product is for, so a pick can rank above a higher-scoring product. How we score
Higgsfield and Runway are the two best-known AI video studios that don’t rely on a single model. Both bundle their own models with third-party ones from Kling, ByteDance and Google, both sell monthly credits, and both are used by creators who outgrew free tools. So which one should you pay for?
The short version: Higgsfield wins on breadth. It lists more third-party video and image models and adds ready-made tools for ads, lipsync and AI influencers. Runway wins on paperwork and production tools: its help center spells out commercial rights on every plan, its privacy policy doesn’t claim a right to train on your content the way Higgsfield’s does, and it adds editing and 4K upscaling. Your choice mostly comes down to whether you want the most models or the clearest terms.
We compared Higgsfield and Runway using their official pricing pages, Higgsfield’s plan comparison table, help-center articles on rights, credits and refunds, both privacy policies, Kuaishou’s Kling 4.0 announcement and Artificial Analysis’s blind-vote text-to-video leaderboard. Both are scored with our published Research Score. We did not generate videos with either service; quality claims come from the leaderboard and the companies we name.
Who this is for
This comparison is for creators choosing between the two multi-model AI video studios, or Higgsfield users wondering whether Runway is a better home. If you’re open to other tools, see our best AI video generator guide and our list of Higgsfield alternatives.
The short answer
Choose Higgsfield if you make social clips or ads, want to compare many models and need ready-made ad, lipsync and AI influencer tools, and you accept that your content may be used for training.
Choose Runway if you deliver work to clients, care about clear commercial rights and privacy terms, or want editing and 4K upscaling in the same app.

Higgsfield
6.8/10
The widest model menu we found, plus Ads Studio, lipsync and AI influencer tools, at the cost of default training on your content and strict credit rules.
Higgsfield’s pricing page reads like a catalog of today’s leading models: Kling 3.0 from 720p to 4K, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5, Wan 3.0, Google Veo 3.1, MiniMax Hailuo 2.3 and Grok Video, next to its own camera-motion model (DoP) and lipsync model (Speak 2.0). On Artificial Analysis’s blind-vote text-to-video leaderboard, Wan 3.0 ranked first and Seedance 2.5 fifth (both with audio) when we checked, and Higgsfield offers both.
It also goes further into marketing work than Runway. Plans include free generations in Higgsfield’s AI Influencer and Ads Studio tools, and the comparison table lists Higgsfield Ads on every plan and the UGC Builder and Higgsfield Speak on Plus and Ultra. For images, it offers Google’s Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2, GPT Image, FLUX.2 and Seedream, plus its own Soul models.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
Higgsfield’s privacy policy says it may use your prompts, uploads, inputs and outputs to train its own and its affiliates’ models; you can only stop that by deleting your content or account, and content already used can’t be removed. Enterprise customers are excluded. Subscription credits expire every cycle, refunds cover only unused initial purchases within seven days (14 for EU and UK consumers), and renewals aren’t refundable. R
Runway
7.3/10
Gen-4.5 plus Kling 4.0, Nano Banana Pro and, on Pro, Seedance 2.5, with editing tools, 4K upscaling and commercial rights spelled out on every plan.
Runway is more of a production suite. Standard ($15 a month, or $12 billed annually) includes 625 credits a month, all of Runway’s video and image models, including its own Gen-4.5, Kling 4.0 and Nano Banana Pro, plus 4K upscaling and no watermarks. Pro ($35, or $28 annually) adds Seedance 2.5, unlimited Topaz AI upscaling and 2,250 credits; Max costs $95 a month ($76 annually). Its price list also includes Aleph 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Pro. Kling 4.0, which Kuaishou says generates up to 30 seconds in one pass, is newer than the Kling 3.0 that Higgsfield’s pricing page lists.
Rights are where Runway pulls ahead. Its help center says content you create is yours to use “without any non-commercial restrictions,” as between you and Runway, and you don’t have to credit Runway on YouTube, social media or at film festivals. The article doesn’t limit this to paid plans.
Flaws but not dealbreakers
Runway’s own models are expensive in credits: Gen-4.5 costs 12 credits per second, so Standard’s 625 credits equal 52 seconds a month and Pro’s 2,250 equal 187 seconds. Credits on Standard and Pro don’t roll over. Runway’s own models don’t appear on Artificial Analysis’s text-to-video leaderboard, so we couldn’t compare Gen-4.5 directly. Its privacy policy doesn’t say whether it trains on your content and describes no opt-out; it also treats some sharing with advertising and analytics partners as a “sale” or “sharing” you can opt out of, and names no security certifications.

Pricing compared
Runway publishes US dollar prices: Standard $15 a month ($12 billed annually, 625 credits), Pro $35 ($28 annually, 2,250 credits) and Max $95 ($76 annually). Higgsfield’s pricing page showed us euros, excluding VAT: Starter €19 (270 credits), Plus €59 or €47 billed annually (1,200 credits) and Ultra €129 or €99 billed annually (3,000 credits). Because the currencies differ, compare by what you’d actually make: a five-second Kling 3.0 clip at 1080p costs about 8 Higgsfield credits, while Runway’s Gen-4.5 costs 12 credits per second. Neither service rolls over subscription credits on these plans. See our Higgsfield pricing guide for credit costs per model.
Privacy and rights compared
This is the clearest difference. Higgsfield’s privacy policy says it may use your prompts, uploads, inputs and outputs to train its own and its affiliates’ AI models, and the only way to stop that is deleting content or your account. Runway’s privacy policy doesn’t say it trains on your content, though it doesn’t describe an opt-out either. On rights, Runway’s help center grants commercial use without attribution and names no plan restriction; Higgsfield’s help center says it doesn’t claim your outputs or restrict commercial use, but its pricing table lists commercial use only on paid plans, and only paid plans include watermark-free downloads. This isn’t legal advice; check both companies’ terms for client work.
The bottom line
Higgsfield is the bigger toolbox, Runway the cleaner contract. If you’re a creator chasing the best model for each shot and building ads or AI characters, Higgsfield gives you more. If you’re producing work for clients or simply want to know where your footage goes, Runway is the safer studio.
